Detroit Puppet Company

An environment that celebrates creativity and community.

Operating out of a bungalow in a residential neighborhood, Detroit Puppet Company established the adjacent 1.3-acres as an outdoor performance area and garden that doubles as a neighborhood gathering space. Situated in a multicultural neighborhood, we consulted the community to help us define the style of signage for the space, integrating features to improve safety and usability of the green space and vegetable garden.

The process included community engagements and surveys conducted in Bengali, Arabic and English. Gathering community input ensured the signage is as illuminating and vibrant as the nearby residents and a source for community pride.
